The Southbury Sharks, in their second swim meet of the season are coalescing into a force to be reconded with. The team is a commanding 130 members strong.
During their first away meet with Newtown, the results were split between the boys and girls. The Newtown girls narrowly defeated Southbury girls, but the Southbury boys, triumphed over Newtown boys with enough of a point spread to win the overall meet.
This weekend was an even better story for the Sharks. The Coaching Staff of Mark LaChance, Jordano Quaglia, Jessica Adams, Brian Shea, and Russ Davey led both the Sharks girls and boys team to the win over West Haven.
The win was not without difficulties for the team. The Sharks relay teams were plagued with False Starts ( when a relay team member leaves the block too early. )
The next meet for the Sharks will be a home meet at Pomperaug High School at 9:30 AM against Plainville.
